These are the terms and conditions (“Terms”) on which Edith Blanche Funeral Directors (“we”, “us”, or “our”) company provides services and or goods to you the client.

We; Edith Blanche Funeral Directors will provide a confirmation of funeral arrangements and an estimate of expenses prior to the date of the funeral. The estimate of expenses includes both fees charged by your nominated funeral director; Edith Blanche Funeral Directors and all Third Party fees necessary to perform the service requested by you, the client.
Deposit / Advance Payment;
2a: Full disbursement cost (third party payments made on your behalf) must be met at the time of arrangement.
2b: Funeral directors fee’s must have 50% met at the time of the arrangement.
2c: Unattended Funeral option; must be paid in full at the time of the arrangement
The final funeral invoice; showing payments made and any outstanding balance will be sent out within 7 days following the date of the funeral. Settlement of the account must be received within 30 days of the date of the funeral. Invoices will be invoiced directly to the client family member.
3a: Invoices that have been requested to be sent directly to solicitors / banks; deposit / advance payments policy remains the same. The final invoice showing payments made and any outstanding balance will be sent out within 7 days following the date of the funeral. Settlement of the account must be received within 30 days of the date of funeral.
In cases of Probate being obtained; our payment policy remains in place; all funeral costs must be covered prior to settlement of probate; any costs would then be recovered on the completion of probate.
DWP claims; all funeral expenses must be paid in full at the time of the arrangement. Our funeral invoice will be emailed to DWP directly along with the National Insurance Number for the claimant; this will help process your claim. NOTE: this process is by no means way of your claim for DWP help with funeral expenses.
As the client to Edith Blanche Funeral Directors you are to indemnify us in full and hold us harmless from all expenses and liabilities we may incur following any breach by you the client of any of your obligations under these terms. This means that you would be liable to us for any losses we may incur because you do not / did not comply with the terms of business for Edith Blanche Funeral Directors. Example; if there is a need to instruct a debt collection agency, Edith Blanche Funeral Directors will also recover any fees we may incur from you / client family.
We will claim those losses from you at any time and if we must take legal action to recover unpaid funeral accounts, a request to court will be made that you cover all legal and court costs.
Funeral Plans; should there be a funeral plan in place for the person who has died, any additional expenses to what is provided by the plan must be paid in full at the time of the arrangement.
Edith Blanche Funeral Directors accepts payment by debit / credit card, BACS transfer. Cash payments; maximum cash payment that can be accepted on any one funeral account is £4000.00 (any remaining balance would need to be settled with debit / credit card or BACS)
Edith Blanche Funeral Directors will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform or delay in the delivery of any services / goods in the event of any strike, trade dispute, accident, fire, inclement weather conditions resulting in flooding, closures due to heavy snow fall, damage following high winds. Epidemic or pandemic; any lockdowns as a result of a CoVid breakout.
Any natural disaster or act of God. Any other contingency whatsoever that is beyond our reasonable control. Any such delay / suspension or cancellation of services or goods shall not constitute a breach contract in contract between us; thus nor will you be able to claim loss or damages.
In signing this form, you hereby agree to the terms of business and payment policy set out by Edith Blanche Funeral Directors, detailed above and accept full responsibility for all of our charges and the external third party payments that will be required.

Cancelling an order for services and goods. For services and goods you have ordered from us you have the right to change your mind and cancel within 14 days following the day on which we accept your order.
By signing to accept our terms and conditions you would be required to notify Edith Blanche Funeral Directors in writing within 14 days of committing to the goods and services requested that your intention is to cancel. 14 day cancellation period provided by the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
You acknowledge that if the services are fully performed within the 14 days cancellation period, you will lose the right to change your mind and cancel the services under the Consumer Contracts
Regulations 2013.
If you cancel after we have started the services but before the services are completed then Edith Blanche Funeral Directors has the right to charge for those service performed prior to the 14 day right to cancel period has elapsed. To exercise your right to cancel; you must inform us of your decision to cancel in writing by way of email or a letter in the post / hand delivered.

Edith Blanche Funeral Directors will acknowledge your cancellation by return within 24 hours of receipt.
Should making your complaint in person not be suitable then we would ask that you please notify us in writing by way of email or via the post / hand delivered letter.
